MYP2 Semester 1 Collection
Students explored the concept of assemblage through the work of renowned sculptor Louise Nevelson. They studied how Nevelson transformed discarded and everyday materials—such as wood scraps and furniture parts—into large, monochromatic wall sculptures that emphasized texture, repetition, and unity. Building on this inspiration, students collected found objects from their homes or surroundings and used them to create their own founs object sculptures. This helped create an appreciation for the potential of overlooked or discarded materials to become powerful works of art.
