The name Halverson is one that everyone knows around Badin High School. Most people would say that they know of it because of the service coordinator, Mrs. Halverson. She is definitely royalty at Badin but lets not forget that she has a son named Eli.
Eli Halverson is a junior this year at Badin and seems to be pretty popular around campus. His mother may be the queen of service, but Eli is a regular guy just trying to live his best life and if you ever get the chance to speak with him, you will soon realize that he is a family man.
“The highlight of my year is going to Hilton Head with my family. We are all so close and it's really nice that we can all be together. We leave for South Carolina the day after Christmas, and then we leave the day before winter break is over. We just spend the days going on bike rides in the morning and just doing fun things together. It’s a great time just to unwind,” Halverson said.
Eli also sees no problem with having his mother at school because of the fact that they are so close.
“Honestly, it was nice having her here freshman year because I couldn’t drive. I mean I needed her there to make things easier. To tell the truth it was awkward having her come into the classrooms but I'm used to it. It also helps that everyone loves her because you wouldn’t want your mom to be a teacher people hate. Plus, it's hard not to love her. She’s the best,” Halverson said.
Eli hopes to become a sports journalist or a sports analyst in the future and he is making plans to ensure that he is prepared for the job and all that it entails.
“I’m taking journalism this year, and hopefully next year, to get experience in the field of writing news stories. I was always interested in sports. I would study different players, and learn their stats and things like that. It was so crazy how much I loved it,” Halverson said.
He also wants a wife and kids in the future. He wants to be successful in the world and give his family everything that he can. After all, he is a family man.
“I want one or two kids. Maybe three, but you know...kids are expensive,” Halverson said.
