Youth Apprenticeship is a capstone program that provides Juniors and Seniors with the opportunity to leave school early or start their school day late. Participating students would go to work during these times and earn high school elective credits while they work. Their employer would then submit grades for the apprentice student in their particular career path.
Youth Apprenticeship Eligibility Requirements:
Students must be a Junior or Senior
Must be in good academic standing
Must be on track to graduate (24 credits total)
Must not have egregious attendance issues
The job must be a paid, W2 position
Student must enroll in "accompanying" course
Example 1: A student employed in the agricultural science field must take an Agricultural Science course at Badger
Example 2: A student employed in the construction and architecture field must take either a construction course or an engineering course at Badger.
Participating students must complete 450 hours of work per year they are enrolled in the program
The employer of the student must complete an On-the-Job Learning (OJL) document
