About Me

This is my 13th year as a math teacher and 5th year at Apple Valley High School. I have lived in Apple Valley since 2013 and it is an honor teaching in the district where my kids are growing up. I have taught AP Calculus AB, Probability and Statistics, Math 3, and Math 1. It has been my pleasure to have served as a mentor teacher, a co-administrator for summer school, a reflective coach for 3 high school math teachers, as well as as a site rep. for the Apple Valley Unified Teachers' Association.

I am married and have 3 children, enjoy playing chess, am an avid blood donor (49 pints/5+ gallons so far), volunteer weekly at a local church, enjoy dirt bike riding with my son, and enjoy hiking. Below are some pictures of my family and some great memories of mine.

More about me:

Prior to Apple, I have served as a math teacher and instructional coach for 8 years at a public charter school. My contributions to education included training and coaching teachers, developing curriculum and assessments, developing and implementing new state and local initiatives, being a Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) point-person, and being a co-founder of a chess group. During my role as an instructional coach, I was recognized with a region-wide award for being a positive, inspirational, and supportive leader.  I am fully authorized to teach mathematics up to calculus, have a B.A. in philosophy with a minor in mathematics, as well as an M.A. in educational administration, from CSUSB.
