The announcement went out that students would have the option to come back on campus or they can remain virtual, of course, by staying home. The cut off amount was one thousand students in natural course to be able to provide that social distancing. We do have quite a bit of students on campus now. They moved back in about a month ago today with their first day of in-person classes. Even though we had in-person classes is still an option for you to go in person. Or you can stay in your room for courses as well, even though you're actually on campus. So we're still definitely implementing that strong social distancing across campus when it comes to eating. Even though we have our cafeteria and pit on campus with multiple places in the pit for students to eat. Everything is set up into those services you can't come in without a mask. You grab your food, they box it up, they bag it up, and you have to leave out and go back to your room to eat.
Athletes have to get tested five days a week, and that's only because our athletes are set and playing last semester. The campus was closed, but they're playing this semester.
I definitely encourage students to go ahead and get their application and transcripts in, as well, if they've taken the S.A.T. or the ACTU, like I said, it looks great with your applications. Also, get that financial aid application in. The quicker you get it in, the quicker they'll go ahead inside of what and whether it's loans or grants and also checking the scholarships as well. Get that applications submitted on FAFSA so they can go ahead and start processing that.
So, the next semester will start in the summer. The deadline to apply for summer registration is in March is on March 16th. Of course, if you miss Summer, then of course fall is literally right behind it so that you could, of course, apply for a fall admission, which is more popular for students to do versus the summer.
So, student retention program offers tutoring services, student life and retention. They work with students very closely to be able to implement a plan, and sit down with you one on one, they get to know you, which I feel is important. They help you come up with a strategic plan on how we're going to make sure, you know, you overcome this situation.
