We are on semesters and we are a rolling admissions school. So, there is really no deadline for admission. We encourage to start in the fall which would be September. We do not have a date, but it is the beginning of September.
So currently students are in person and online; It was their choice. We gave them the option of that. So, we do have some students on the campus right now coming back and forth. Of course, we all don't know what COVID will look like at that time, but the plans are right now to still continue to offer online and in-person courses.
Green County offers a lot of different options for them to serve. We encourage students to help others to do any service that is available to them around the campus.
You must be a sophomore. So, you have that whole freshman year to research and decide which one is best for you, the right fit for you.
As you heard me state earlier, you have a lot of aunties and uncles here at Central State ready to help you. So as far as coming in, as a freshman, you are going to receive a mentor. Every staff member is required to have a mentee. So, you will have a mentor that you can come to and just kind of help you through the year. We have our trio services that help with that resume writing and different things like that. Then we also have our academic advisors that you are going to be with your whole freshman year as well.
Now, as far as mental health services, Central State has the first NAMI chapter located on the campus, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. We want to make sure that students are receiving those services. We have a mental peace and relaxation center that you can go to students and staff your if you are feeling stressed, there is a room of zen.
We have our student resource center, which has our game rooms, which has our cafeteria, which when I say cafeteria, I mean restaurant, because that food is good, and they have like a Mongolian chef in there.
