Historically Black Colleges and Universities have always been the ultimate college success story. For more than 180 years, they have consistently outperformed non-HBCUs in terms of access, affordability, student experience and post-college preparedness.
Today there are more than 300,000 students, including 80,000 non-Black students who attend the 101 accredited HBCUs across the United States. It gets better, according to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), the average cost of attending an HBCU is nearly 30% less than attending a predominantly white institution (PWI).

Common Black College Application
The Common Black College Application, or CBCA for short, allows students and alumni to submit one application through the platform. This application will then be available to any or all the participating Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The application process takes less than 15 minutes if students know which institutions they want to select for their favorite choices and have all required papers ready.
The College Access Program covers the Common Black College Application fee for students and alumni. Fee waiver codes are made available to school counselors and can be requested via email.
During College Week, we invite Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Hispanic Serving Institutions to present their school, admission requirements, and college life to you! It is also your chance to learn about these institutions and get your questions answered.
