all about Care Pathways
The Flight Paths program relies on teams committing their Care Pathways goals.
Care pathways have long been used in human medical care, and now they are being used successfully in animal care as well. Care pathways are standardized paths that guide a group of pets from intake to outcome and direct resources to the animals that need them. Care pathways aim to reduce shelter stay, providing high quality and efficient care for animals in APA!'s care, based upon their needs.
Care Pathways was created by Dr. Sheila Segurson, Aaron Caldwell, Clare Callison, Amber Freihold, and Joanna Cordry as part of a Maddie's Fund Big Dog Research Grant. You can study and create a pilot Care Pathways program in Maddie's University.
How we score
This is what the Care Pathway scorers use to determine a dog's Care Pathway Level. If you want to become a Care Pathway scorer, contact Flight Paths Managers.
