We cannot accommodate same-day or next-day requests.
DE proctoring is not available 24/7 and requires that you book your session at least two days in advance
Complete the DE Proctoring Incomplete Appointment Request form. You will be prompted to provide the date and time for which you wish to take your exam. Only one date and time per exam will be accepted, subject to session availability.
Within 2 business days of the request being submitted, you will be contacted by DE Proctoring via email. Please review the email thoroughly; failure to do so may result in not being able to take the exam.
DE Proctoring will only proctor one exam per session with a student. Exams cannot be paired up into a single session.
Once you submit your request, keep an eye out for these two critical emails:
Immediate Confirmation: You will receive an email from do_not_reply@austincc.edu with the subject "Session Appointment Confirmation." This contains your session details and timeline.
The Meeting Link: By 11:59 PM the day before your appointment, you will receive an invitation from Class with the subject "You've been invited to join a class!"
Note: If you do not have this link by the morning of your appointment, contact us immediately. Late arrivals will not be admitted.
To ensure a smooth session, please complete these steps before your start time:
Use Chrome: Only use the Google Chrome browser. Make sure it is updated.
Check Your Wi-Fi: Use a strong internet connection. Do not use a phone hotspot—it will likely cause a connection error.
Mac Users: You must change your screen share settings before the meeting.
Stay Powered: Plug in your laptop charger. You cannot leave the room to get it once the test starts.
Test Everything: Visit a practice session to make sure your camera and mic work.
Find Your Exam: Log into Blackboard and have your exam page ready before you join.
Close Everything Else: Close all apps and other tabs. You should only have 3 tabs open: Gmail, Class, and Blackboard.
Screen Share: You must share your entire screen with the proctor. If you can't, you will have to reschedule.
Materials: Have your ID and any allowed notes or scratch paper ready on your desk.
No Breaks: You cannot leave your seat once the test begins. If you leave, you must submit your test and email your teacher.
Don't Be Late: If you are late, the proctor will not let you in.
Plan Ahead: Try to book your appointment 3 days before your deadline. This gives you time to fix any tech problems.
When you submit your appointment request, you will be sent a confirmation email that contains information about your upcoming testing session, including when you can expect to receive the link to your appointment session. Please review that email and let us know if you have further questions.
The day before the appointment (by 11:59 PM), you will receive an invitation from Class with "You've been invited to join a class!" in the subject line. This email will contain the link to the testing session.
Please contact us on the morning of the appointment if you do not have the link.
