ENGL 2328 - American Literature: Civil War to the Present with Prof. Becky Villarreal
My service learning project was a Library Aide to our Volunteer Elementary School Librarian, Mrs. Laurey Wolf. I worked along with my sister Kelsey in February and March during our office aide class period. We assisted Mrs. Wolf in sorting and re-shelving the entire library, dusting the shelves, as well as any other tasks she had us do. Mrs. Wolf had to re-index the books herself though.

ENVR 1301 - Environmental Science with Prof. Elena Keen
The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences ENVR - 1301 Introduction of Environmental Science students completed a service-learning project as a part of their semester curriculum. The project was developed in coordination with ACC’s Office of Energy and Sustainability, partnering with service-learning classes to survey, research, map, and plant trees on ACC campuses to meet the City of Austin’s goal of 50% tree cover by 2050. Students in this section of ENVR 1301 used tree canopy data collected on ACC campuses to research and reflect on the environmental, economic, and social benefits of trees. Additionally, the project met course objectives by showing the connectivity of trees with air, soil, water, and urban landscapes.
