CLASS DOJO or EMAIL
The 4th grade teachers use both to communicate. Ms. Chang tends to use Class Dojo for small reminders or announcements. If there is a lot of information that needs to be shared, it may be sent through email.

4th Grade is the transition to upper grade!
Having students do household chores, find a balance for screen time, finding interests of their own, staying active are all ways to help them out. Help them by coming up with strategies on how to prioritize, practice time management, and figuring out what is the best way to organize are important as well!
Goals for Students
Develop Responsibility
Increase Independence
Strive for Greatness
Build Community
Choose Kindness
Cultivate Healthy Habits
Every week on Google Classroom, there will be a Google Slides presentation of math warm-ups. In class, we may not always have time to do every single warm-up, but you are more than welcome to look over the slides with your child to discuss those math problems. Having math discussions is just as important as practicing the concepts!
Another important skill that students need to be fluent in are multiplication and division facts.
Students will be keeping a writing journal for "Sacred Writing Time." Prompts are also available in Google Classroom so students can choose other prompts that they did not get to in class.
Exploring the Arcadia Public Library to read a variety of books is definitely helpful! Reading fiction and non-fiction will build upon multiple skills.
Please let the office and Ms. Chang know ahead of time if your child will be absent.
Once the official independent study paperwork has been processed, Ms. Chang will provide a list of assignments.
