What if I can't log into my College Board account?
Don't create a second account! Each student should have only ONE College Board account during their high school careers which houses AP, PSAT and SAT scores and information. For log in help visit: https://pages.collegeboard.org/account-help or https://myap.collegeboard.org. Students may also call College Board AP Services for Students: 888-225-5427
What information should I enter into my College Board MyAP Profile?
Please enter your FULL legal name (to correspond to school records and your school ID for check in on exam day), as well as an email address that you check regularly. (You will receive alerts from College Board as well as VPP via that email so it's important that an email address is used that is checked.)
On the MyAP site it, shows that under Exam Decision that I am "registered" for the exam, but I have not submitted payment and I do not want to take the test? What do I do?
You will need to complete the opt-out form prior to 31 October 2023 in order to not be charged for the exam and a possible return fee.
Students who order, but decide to cancel before 31 October 2023 deadline, will have their funds transferred to pay other outstanding fees on their student account. Exams cancelled after 31 October 2023, as well as no shows on exam day, are not eligible for any refund and will be charged an additional $40 return fee.
Why does a student have to pay for an AP exam at a public school?
The AP level coursework is an elective level of rigor. Students must choose to enroll and stay in AP courses. The College Board, a non-profit private entity maintains, publishes and scores the AP exams. They determine the fee, each year, for each test. For the 2023-24 school year, the fee is $98 per test. For low income families, fee reductions are available.
How do students get college credit for AP classes?
Vista Peak Preparatory students enrolled in AP courses learn as much, or more, than students taking the same courses in college, so students who do well in AP may receive college credit. The Advanced Placement Focus Program meets strict credit/placement criteria of selective colleges and universities on the basis of rigorous national examinations. The evidence of AP students’ achievement is not only a teacher’s grade, but also the results on a carefully designed national examination. AP exams are prepared by committees of college faculty and AP teachers, and are graded by other college and AP teachers, who ensure that the content and skills that are required reflect college-level achievement. An AP exam score of 3 or higher is better validated and probably represents a higher standard than these transfer grades. Individual colleges award credit for AP classes in accordance to their own guidelines. Contact universities directly for more information.
How do I find out my score?
AP Grade Reports are sent in July to each student’s home, high school, and any college(s) designated by the student. At the time of the exam, students can indicate on their answer sheet if they would like a college to receive their grade. After the exam, they can write to the AP Program and request that the grade be sent to other colleges as well. Students may also cancel or withhold a grade by contacting the AP Program by June 15 of the testing year.
