What are Wellness Centers?
Acalanes Union High School District (AUHSD) provides social/emotional and mental health services through Wellness Centers at each high school. The Wellness Center team works in collaboration with the Counseling Department, Administration, Special Education Department and Health Office to support the mental health as well as the educational, developmental, social-emotional and physical needs of a diverse student community. As a collaborative team, Wellness Center staff offer classroom presentations and support school-wide events aimed at developing resilient, health-conscious students. In addition, AUHSD Wellness partners with community based organizations by bringing them to our campus to support the specific wellness needs of our students.

Services offered through the Wellness Center are free, confidential, and voluntary. Students have the right to decline services. You may make a referral at any time and indicate why a student may not want a referral to Wellness. Wellness staff will determine next steps.
The Wellness Center welcomes students dropping in to request support during class time, but they cannot simply "hang out". Sometimes students just need a 15-20 minute break where they may check-in briefly with support staff or use the center to practice healthy coping skills. Wellness staff do their best to circle students back to class as soon as possible. Wellness staff will appropriately address students who frequently use the center during class time. Students are also welcome to use the Wellness Center for self-care before/after school and during breaks and lunch.
Wellness Centers provide safe, supportive environments on school campus's where students can go to get help on a variety of issues. Through both on-campus programming and community based partnerships, students receive coordinated mental health education and prevention and other support services that help maximize student engagement and success.
