SAT and ACT

We encourage juniors who plan to attend a four year college after high school to take the SAT or ACT in the spring of their junior year.  Students can take either test as colleges will use either set of scores for admissions purposes.  The greatest factor in deciding which test to take is usually determined by the testing date and location that works for the specific student.  Sometimes students prefer the style of one test over the other.  Information about test format as well as sample test questions are available on each companies respective website.  

Over the past few years many 4 year colleges that have required an SAT or ACT score in previous years have made their admissions process "test optional." Please review the specific admissions requirements of the colleges you are interested in applying to. As of March 2024 the SAT will be given in a digital format.  Please check with guidance to ensure that the Bluebook App has been downloaded to your Chromebook. The most up-to-date admissions requirements will be found on the college's website.
