Nutritional Guidelines

According to Public Law, Chapter 45, the following cannot be served, sold, or given away on school property at any time before the end of the school day.

Foods of Minimal Nutritional Value as defined by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture including:

• Soda
• Water ices
• Chewing gum
• Certain candies (hard candy, gummy bears, marshmallows, fondant, licorice, candy coated popcorn)
• Food and beverage listing sugar as the first ingredient
