About ML Lab 1

MLL Lab 1 is a Designated English Language Development (ELD) course designed to address the specific ELD needs of students in the beginning stages of English language proficiency.

This document provides guidance on the language forms and convention, vocabulary usage and linguistic complexity that should be covered in this course.

From the course catalog: Emphasis on activities involving emerging language acquisition for students new to the program, to include vocabulary development, communication skills, and academic language.

The structure of this course is designed to be flexible- to address the needs of the students currently enrolled in the class. As a result, some topics at the discourse, sentence, and/or word/phrase level will take less or more time depending on where your students are in their English language learning journey.
