My strength is resilience from negative thoughts and mental blocks. In my work or my life, I get anxious when I fail or hit a wall but I can distract myself and step out of that negativity and relook each day like it was new. This helps me in my work a lot because I can look at the research from a new perspective and can objectively step up insights from Grade 1 to Grade 100 even though I am questioning and negating some of my ideas.

From my days in advertising back in India as a creative head to this day as a user experience designer/researcher listening and collaborating motivates me like nothing else. I was recently called back to join a company I worked with in 2011 because “we couldn’t find the glue to bring the campaigns and people together after you”. I promise that was an ego boost but truly a testament when I broke this news to the colleagues, I managed they all said they would rejoin the organization if I moved back to India and head that firm. My motivation comes from an environment where people want to collaborate because we are doing something magical.

I am motivated to find fairness, justice, and earnestness in any work that I do. If 1 year of sabbatical in 2023 to build mud homes or vertical farms in hydroponics for an urban center doesn’t speak for that then you should see a list of things I do for passion. I have grown my food in Napa Valley, I have revived an LGBTQIA POC group from 10 active members to 500 in Boston and I have built products in healthcare, wellness, pain, insurance, and small business cases where even after the MVP research trial the users refuse to delete from their phones. "When I find insights that seamlessly weave into my users’ lives because I have spent the time and energy in truly listening to them then I sleep well".
