Why WIKIPEDIA is Fine to Use.

"Don't use Wikipedia...EVER! It isn't a credible resource" said almost every teacher ever. Well, that's no longer true. Wikipedia is now allowed in Doctoral dissertations IF the page cited meets certain criteria (Grade of FA). Excited, yep, me too. With this in mind, remember when you are doing quality research, check Wikipedia for areas they are looking for research and you can have a publishing credit on your resume for college and career.

Okay, how do you know if your Wikipedia article is good? They have a quality scale also known as "the rubric of the world." You can find out a page's "grade" by clicking on the Talk tab at the top of each article. The Talk page is where the authors of the various pages debate and decide what will be included, changed, etc. on each page. There is an etiquette to participating in the Talk page that you will need to understand prior to submitting your edits and full articles to Wikipedia. With this in mind, remember, Wikipedia is a tertiary source! Pages with grades of C or above on the quality scale can be used in college papers for undergrads and some grad studies.

Just for fun, see how in-depth Wikipedia has written and researched their own reliability.
