Media Center Hours
On Campus
Time: 8:15 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Days: Monday - Friday
Virtually:
24/7 via the Follett Destiny icon in MyBackpack and this website. Ms. McCall is also available to classes and individual students via email and GoogleMeet by appointment.
Media Center Use
All students, with a pass from a teacher, are welcomed to the media center during school hours. Students must show their media center pass to a media center representative and sign in at the circulation desk.
Lunch
The media center is open during all lunch periods the majority of the time.
Book Check Out On Campus and Virtually
Students may check out up to three books for a two week period. Students may renew books unless there is a wait list for the book.
Students with overdue books or media center fines will not be allowed to check out books until books have been returned and/or media center fines have been paid.
eBooks are available through the Follett Destiny OPAC and through AFPLS Class Pass in your MyBackpack account. These are your best options while we are virtual, however, if you need a physical copy of a book I have in the media center, email me and I will make arrangements to get it to you.
Overdue fines are $.05 per book per day.
Books should be returned via the book return slot at the circulation desk or dropping off at the front office while we are virtual.
Computer Use and Virtual Support
Computers are provided for school use in the Media Center and Chromebooks are distributed as needed for 1:1 access during our virtual time. If you need a device, please reach out to Mrs. Kaltman. If you need assistance accessing your classes or any other computer related issue, check the Technology Resources page. Information is also available in Spanish on the Spanish Resources page. You may also reach out to Client Support at 404-802-1000.
Students must adhere to the Atlanta Public Schools Internet Acceptable Use Policy both on campus and virtually.
Printers are available for student printing on campus only.
Lost, Stolen or Damaged Materials
Students are responsible for the replacement of all lost, stolen, or damaged media center materials they check out or use in the Media Center. The cost of the lost or stolen materials will be the current library-bound purchase price from an approved APS vendor. Students who return damaged books may be assessed replacement charges depending on the severity of the damage. If you are a student with financial issues, please reach out to Ms. McCall for alternative solutions.
