Sustainability Design Thinking Workshops/EcoEngage Conference
Last March 2024, the Ateneo GLP delegates, alongside the Office of Student Activities, hosted a workshop series to share insights gathered from the GLP program. Through these workshops, 181 participants from 37 student organizations were guided to articulate their ideas about sustainability and to agree on the collective sustainability goals that they want to set in the realm of student organization life on the Ateneo campus. These workshops were concluded with the EcoEngage Conference where a student leader co-manifesto was developed. This co-manifesto expressed our student leaders’ commitment to recognizing the significance of their role in integrating sustainability into their organizational activities and daily habits.
Global Leadership Program
Last August 2023, the 13th Global Leadership Program (GLP) was held in Fu Jen Catholic University (FJU) in Taiwan centered around the theme “Our Blue Planet - Ocean and Sustainability”. The GLP program gathers young leaders from around the world to engage in meaningful discussions on societal challenges from diverse perspectives. Six student leaders represented the Ateneo de Manila University, presenting an overview of environmental protection, indigenous culture, and migration within the Philippine context to students from varying countries and contexts. They also participated in activities like beach clean-ups and a visit to the Badouzi Fishing Harbour where they were able to get to know the migrant fishermen who work there.
