The AJHS Glee Club is dedicated to fostering a deep love and understanding of music, providing students with numerous opportunities to develop their vocal talents while building a supportive community of like-minded young musicians.
Our musicianship sessions are guided by the Kodály Method, utilizing effective tools such as solfege singing, inner hearing, and stick notation, among others. We uphold Zoltán Kodály’s principle that “singing is the foundation of all music education” because the voice is the most natural and accessible instrument. Whatever we can hum or sing can often be translated into playing a musical instrument, making singing an essential first step toward well-rounded musicianship.
Through regular practices, rehearsals, workshops, and musicianship training, students will deepen their understanding of vocal health, vocal techniques, diverse music concepts, and comprehensive music theory, all while exploring a wide and enriching repertoire.
Let your voice be heard — join the harmony! 🎶
