Lenten Reflection Week 3

For this third week of Lent, we invite you to reflect and pray the “Ignatian Examen” taught to us by St. Ignatius of Loyola. The Ignatian Examen, as define by many, is a five-part prayer to review our day and notice God’s presence in our life.

PRESENCE

Ask for the grace to rest, become still, and become aware of the loving presence of God as you begin your prayer.

THANKSGIVING

Give thanks for all the gifts and blessings of today.

REVIEW

Take a moment to recall and remember the events and experiences of the day while becoming aware of your actions, thoughts, and feelings.

PONDER

Bring to a conversation with God whatever stirred your heart today. Share too, your need for forgiveness, reconciliation, and healing

HOPE

Ask God for the grace to have the courage to surrender your tomorrow. Ask God to bless all your desires, plans, and hopes for yourself and others in the coming days.

Praying the Examen is one of the ways that we can identify God’s movement and invitation in our lives. A prayer that invites one to remember and look back at our experiences and to look deeper into our feelings, and desires to see God's invitation in our life; a life of wholeness, holiness, and of greater love. Most importantly, the examen allows us to further look into the kind of relationship we have with God.

For our reflection this week, let us pray and reflect and do an examen on the 'status' of our relationship with God.
