As you begin your prayer, imagine God, looking at you with much love and understanding.
You may simply pray: Stay with me. Be with me, Lord.
Take a moment to remember one or two events or experiences you are genuinely grateful for this week.
Remember, all of these gifts, given to you are out of God’s abounding kindness and gratuitous love and the only appropriate response is gratitude.
As I bring to mind all the events and experiences of the past week.
I will try to be mindful, most especially of the way I treated and feel about my body, thoughts, and emotions.
I reflect and ask:
Was I able to take good care of myself this week?
How was the quality of my rest this week?
Did I sleep well and enough?
What and how much did I eat?
Did I find time to do things that I like, bring me joy? A ‘me time”?
Did I have the space to think, reflect, pray, slow down, or simply be quiet?
Or did I somehow neglect my own needs because of the many things I have to attend to? Rushed through things?
Allow yourself to feel whatever feelings
to well up inside of you and bring all of it to a conversation with God.
As you do this, you may also want to say sorry for the moments you regret and humbly ask for God's forgiveness and mercy.
Finally, before you bring your prayer to a close,
Take a moment to ask God for the graces you need for tomorrow.
Tell the Lord of your needs, for yourself and for the people you love.
With full trust, ask God to bless you and your hopes, and plans for the coming days.
Lord Jesus, you have said:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
In the midst of the overwhelm, Lord, be our rest and solace.
Grant us the grace to always be patient and be gentle with ourselves.
Help us to be and stay healthy in mind, body, and spirit.
So, we may continue to follow your will, every day.
Amen.
