I quiet myself and slow my breathing. I turn down my thoughts and ask God for clarity and wisdom as He gently makes His presence known.
I begin by spending a few moments recalling one or two blessings that I received this past week.
I look back at my week and review the spaces (virtual or physical) I stayed in.
Of all the spaces I’ve been, I ask:
Which space was I most grateful for?
Which space was most life-giving?
Which space did I most feel God’s presence?
I pause for a while as I imagine myself in that space and I recall the people who share that space with me.
I allow my feelings to resurface and linger in them.
I thank God for this space and the people who are a part of it.
I look again at the spaces I’ve been (physical or virtual) and ask:
Which space did I find difficult to stay in?
Which space drained me?
Which space do I not look forward returning to?
I pause for a while once again as I imagine myself in that space.
I speak to God openly about these spaces.
I express to Him how I feel and ask for the grace of understanding and healing.
Finally, before you bring your prayer to a close,
Take a moment to ask God for the graces you need for tomorrow and the following days, and resolve, with God’s help, to be more mindful of the things that you need to do, to bring God into your spaces, whether online or in real-life in the coming days.
And now trusting that God is listening to me and is watching over me, I now bring my prayer to a close saying:
Glory be….
