As this week reaches its end, I will look back and remember all the blessings and gifts I have received this past week
(not only the big, but even the small ones too).
I’ll spend the next few minutes giving thanks to God for all of these blessings and gifts.
I will give the thanks as well for all the God-given talents and gifts I was able to utilize and share with others this week.
As I continue to review the events and experiences of this week, I will remember and recognize the people who, even in their simple ways, gave and showed me love. (showed concern for me, listened to me, helped me in difficulties, etc.)
With a grateful heart, I will give thanks to the Lord for the gift of these generous and loving people.
At this point of the Examen, with a humble heart I will bring to mind and recognize
moments of weakness and mistakes. The things that I regret. I will ask for God’s loving mercy and forgiveness.
With deep trust in His unconditional love, I will ask God to embrace me despite my iniquities.
Finally, as I reach the end of my Examen, I will ask God for His guidance this coming weekend and for the new week that is to come.
I will beg for his grace to bless me and help me in facing all of the challenges in the near future.
With my whole mind and heart,
I claim these words, and pray in Jesus’ name.
I am loved. For I know God is love.
I am blessed. For God never left me unaided.
I am forgiven. For God loves and accepts me as His beloved child.
Amen.
