In order to properly prepare our clients for their asylum interview or to write a proper appeal, it is crucial that we are aware of the current practice of the SEM and the Federal Administrative Court (Bundesverwaltungsgericht, BVGer) with regard to specific countries of origin. Each case is specific and no general advice can be given, but the following background information should serve as a basis for more specific advice in the case at hand. If you are preparing a client for his or her interview, please be aware of the issues mentioned below and focus on the topics mentioned (unless in a specific case another refugee-relevant issue emerges, e.g. sexual orientation or similar).
