For this song, I use Korg iKaossilator and Garageband on my iPad. Korg iKaossilator is a simple DAW mobile application to tap and stroke sound loops of dance music. I start creating the sound with a disco drumbeat, with the tempo to 120 and 4/16 of the time signature. Then I added bass and synth keyboards. I use the program’s Live Recording mode to record the track and export it. During the recording, I manually press the mute on/off on selected tracks to play in the sequence I want the song to go. I imported the song to Garageband to mix the track’s EQs and then exported it as a .wav file. Depending on the vision of a song, it would take me days or weeks to complete a track with layers of instruments. While programs like Garageband, Logic Pro X, and FL Studio are good DAW programs for beginners, Pro Tools and Ableton can be learning curves. By using the Korg iKaossilator app, it was faster and easy to make my dance music. No matter what program of DAW to use, the important part of making music is how to use them and learn its tools along the way.
This audio is about one of my daily routines before starting my day, making tea. Tea is one of my favorite drinks. It keeps me calm and relax during day when doing my tasks. I also enjoy it before going the sleep. My go to is green tea or earl grey. For the recording, I use Voice Memos application on my iPhone. The sounds are me turning the faucets on to pull water in my mug and then putting the mug in the microwave. The rest of the audio is me adding the teabag, pouring and stirring sugar in the mug. What I found amazing about the audio is how much reverb each sound and movement without changing in EQ in Garageband. Especially when I accidently hit something on a thick glass and the echo sounds felt good in my ear. It made me realize my kitchen has good acoustic to record anything in there.
