Communication and Collaboration

The Communication and Collaboration domain includes the ability to use professional communication and technology skills to engage in partnerships. Three skill sets are aligned with assessing this domain including students’ abilities to (1) use formal and informal partnerships to advance efforts of an educational initiative; (2) demonstrate professional communication skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking, appropriate to a given context; and (3) use technology for a variety of functions, including to collaborate globally, share/present, adapt to specific contexts and needs, and create, appropriate to a given context with diverse individuals and/or groups.

Course: EDU 404: Navigating Change in Educational Innovations

Description: Individual Assignment - Community Partnership Paper-

• Summary: A paper explaining your partnership with your organization. 

• Purpose: Justify the selection of your partnership with reflections on course content, experiences, background research into the organization including your interview, and their mission or objectives. Include your agreed upon activities and a full timeline for implementation, data collection, and final reporting to the organization.

Representation: Through this work, I was able to effectively collaborate in professional contexts by establishing and maintaining formal partnerships in order to further educational initiatives.

Application: In this experience, I had to justify my partnership selection using course content and outside sources as well as my personal experiences, describe research into the organization including my brief overview of the interview from Leadership in Advocacy assignment, include the organization’s mission, key messages, and objectives and their alignment to mine, include a description of actionable items and your leadership implementation of advocacy related to these actionable items, and provide a final timeline for actionable items including pre/post data (indicator monitoring) and narrative assessments or other data collection methods. I was able to develop these skills in order to carefully make future partnerships with individuals and organizations that align with my mission and objectives.
