Uploading to YouTube
First, you’ll want to ensure your Davinci Resolve is connected to your Youtube Channel you are going to be uploading your completed video to.
- To connect your accounts, navigate to the top toolbar that says “Davinci Resolve” and click on that.
- From the menu, click Preferences
- Then, navigate to Internet Accounts
- Then, will select the sign-in button next to Youtube. Your preferred internet browser will then launch and you should be able to log-in to your YouTube Channel.
If you are having trouble with your University provided YouTube Channels, please reach out to IT.
After you have logged in to your YouTube channel and connected that to Davinci Resolve, navigate back to Davinci Resolve. Below are the steps on how to export your video to YouTube.
- Go to the Deliver Tab
- You can find this at the bottom of the screen, it appears as the Rocket Ship icon, as seen below.
- Choose the "YouTube" preset for simplified exporting.
- Name your file after your course prefix and number, such as “ABC 123”
- Choose a location to save the video. You can select “Browse” which will then allow you to save the video to your File Explorer.
- Check box that notates “Upload Directly to YouTube”
Next, you will be prompted to add a title and description for your video that will appear on your YouTube channel.
The title should be your course prefix followed by a short description of the video such as “ABC 123: Course Introduction”. The description of your video can be a 2-3 sentence summary of your video and its contents.
Then, you will be prompted to edit the video’s privacy setting, On the drop down, change the setting from “private” to “unlisted.” Then, there is a drop-down for Category. Change that to Education.

Next, click the button underneath that is noted as “Add to Render Queue”. From there, a dialogue box will appear on the right side of your screen that notes “Render All”. Click that and your video will be noted on YouTube.
Now that your video is exported, click NEXT to embed your video to Canvas.
