Use of Technology

01 Technology as a Tool of Transformative Learning

People may wondering about classrooms with blackboard and chalks, but that's gonna be a past tense in my classrooms. With the launch of new teaching and learning methods made possible by technology, the traditional classroom has undergone tremendous change. Teachers may use technology to make their lessons more interactive, fascinating, and engaging for their students. Additionally, technology can present novel opportunities for students to work together, access information and resources from a variety of platforms, and hone their critical thinking abilities. But it's crucial to make sure that the technology in the classroom fits the students' age range and complements the learning goals.

02 In-Class Technology Use

I will implement active learning for all my classes, which means students will explore academic concepts with interactive technology. To eliminate the financial burden, students are able to use technology at no costs. There are three types of technology that we will use for my classes.

Type 1: Digital Learning Platform (DLP) - DeltaMath/Khan Academy

DLP replaces paper-based assignments and note packets to prevent the loss of academic material, and students will always have access to the homework assignment.

Type 2: Desmos Graphing Calculator & Geometry Tool/GeoGebra Sketchpad

When learning about functions, congruence, dilation (similarity), or any concepts of Geometry, I will perform live demonstration during the lesson. Students can use Desmos to explore functions on their laptops. Pear Deck is also utilized for enhancing learning experiences.

Type 3: Formative Assessment - Kahoot! It/Quizlet Live

The game-like technology allows students to gain further understanding of the academic content in a low-stress environment. Students can work in groups for Quizlet Live activities.

03 Technology and Classroom Management

Additionally, technology can be used to help with classroom management. For example, teachers can utilize software to:

Classroom management systems can also give teachers an easier way to keep track of their students' progress and communicate with them. Additionally, technology can give teachers helpful resources to expedite administrative work and establish a more controlled and orderly learning environment.
