wRITING pROJECTS
For my ENG 102 class, I completed three writing projects:
Writing Project #1: Rhetorical Analysis
Writing Project #2: Problem Analysis
Writing Project #3: Problem Proposal
Writing Project #1: Rhetorical Analysis
The first major writing assignment examines students' ability to conduct an in-depth analysis of the writer's goals, audiences, overall context, and rhetorical appeals (pathos, egos, logos, and any other literacy devices). The writing project does not test your grammar and English as people may imagine.
I selected The Digital Divide among Students during COVID-19: Who Has Access? Who Doesn’t? by Robin Lake and Alvin Makori for the first writing project.
Writing Project #2: Problem Analysis
This major writing assignment requires students to construct an Abstract page as well as an Annotated Bibliography section based on the problem/topic selected. The abstract section outlines the problem and the argument (which should not be a description). When selecting sources for the Annotated Bibliography, select all the articles (or scholarly journals) that are pertinent to the abstract and the problem. To earn a high grade on this writing project, do not simply rephrase the sources in your own words.
My problem focuses on the ethics of using online test proctoring software during the COVID-19 pandemic when in-person instruction was impossible.
