Admissions

How Do I Get Admitted as a First-Year Applicant?

According to ASU's admissions website, you need to meet the Course Competency Requirements AND one of the following academic requirements:

However, the W.P. Carey School of Business and the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering may have higher admissions standards for all first-year and transfer applicants (including international students). So, it is always beneficial for you to have a backup choice when applying to ASU.

International students who want to apply to ASU must meet the English Proficiency requirements.

How Competitive is it to get admitted by ASU?

The general admissions to ASU are slightly selective, for every 6 applicants, 5 are admitted (around 80%-85%). However, if you're applying to Barrett, The Honors College, meeting the basic admissions requirements does not guarantee an acceptance.

Will ASU Rescind My Admissions if My Grade Dropped in Senior Year?

In general, as long as you accurately reported your academic record, you won't be in trouble. However, it is advised to maintain a GPA of 2.00 or above (on a 4.00 Scale) without any grade of D or F even if you're already admitted.

When's the Absolute Last Day I Can Apply to ASU?

ASU accepts students on a rolling basis, and students are admitted once they meet the basic requirements and spaces for incoming classes are available. To be eligible for financial aid or scholarships, I recommend you complete your application by May 1 (if May 1 falls on a weekend, then complete your application on the preceding Friday).
