Victorian Certificate of Education results are reported as numeric. All Unit 1 and Unit 2 assessment tasks (SACs and SATs) completed within a semester must total 100.
For e.g. Unit 1 = 100, Unit 2 = 100.
Unit 3 & 4 scores are reported as per the subject VCAA study design.
Vocational Education and Training is reported using the competency scale i.e. competent/not yet competent/in progress. However, if this is a scored study for VCE VET, it must be reported using numerical scores as indicated by the study design.
Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning is satisfactory/not satisfactory or in progress.
A turnaround time of three weeks is expected for year 7 – 12 assessment tasks. This turnaround time includes marking the work AND providing feedback to the students on SIMON. Any assessment submissions should be marked as submitted on SIMON within 24hours.
The work submitted by students should be marked as ‘submitted’ on the day that it is received, in order to ensure that SIMON and PAM are up to date.
As of now, it is an expectation that we align the marking protocols in year 11 to the VCAA expectations at year 12, meaning that all subjects with more than one class should complete cross marking. As well as this, you are encouraged to collaborate on your SACs, SATs, learning area tasks, clear marking guides, rubrics, etc.
