Chapter 2

Chapter 2: Polynomial and Rational Functions begins with an introduction to imaginary numbers and ends with direct and inverse variations of functions. This chapter contains applications to physics (alternating current in electricity), engineering (electrical and quantum), computer science (wireless network systems), biology (brain wave patterns), and more. Imaginary numbers allow us to find solutions for equations that were previously unsolvable. This is often the case with polynomial functions.
