Middle School

Platform: Use Google Classroom regularly in class and for homework. All grades and missing assignments should be posted/indicated on The Wire. Links to all main class programs (e.g. Google Classroom, IXL) should also be linked on your Wire homepage. Utilize any other platforms that would be used in distance learning regularly so students know how to use them. In a distance scenario, use Google Classroom for lists of work, delivery of content, and assignments. Assignments should be listed on the digital planner and all grades and missing work should be posted on The Wire.

In a distance scenario:

*Post all materials (assignment lists, login information, printables, etc.) in Google Classroom. Students should be able to find all class materials in one place. Include the learning objectives or targets for the week/unit.

*Synchronous & Asynchronous: Meet with your students live for at least a portion of each class period. Mix live meetings with asynchronous assignments such as recorded videos, activities, projects, collaboration, time on digital programs, and offline activities. Offer office hours / tutorials to students who need additional support.

*Keep track of students' live meeting attendance and asynchronous participation. Contact Daniel Carroll and the student's parents when a student has more than two assignments missing.

*Student Well-Being: Facilitate Advisory daily, wellness check-ins, and the weekly Social-Emotional Learning and Digital Citizenship lessons. Contact Laura Dickinson if you are concerned about a student.
