Health Screenings

The State of Alaska (Sec 14.30.127) mandates annual health screenings for all students Gr. K-3 & 5, students that are new to the district, and those being test for or receiving special services. The nurse may also perform screenings outside of the outlined parameters for concern of impairment that may be disrupting learning. These concerns may be brought forth by a student, teacher, or parent. Screenings include measurements of growth via heigh and weight as well as vision and hearing tests. Screenings will begin the first week of September. If there is a concern regarding normal growth and development, you will be contacted by the the nurse for further testing via referral and follow-up.
