Welcome TO MUSIC!
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope this letter finds you and your family well. As the new music teacher here at Aquarian Charter School I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share some information about what your child can expect in music class this year.
My name is Connie Tracy, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach your child music this year. Music is a wonderful way for children to express themselves creatively, develop important skills, and foster a lifelong love of music.
In our music classes, your child will have the opportunity to explore various aspects of music, including singing, playing instruments, listening to different styles of music, and learning about music theory. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging environment where all students feel comfortable expressing themselves musically and are encouraged to take risks and try new things.
Throughout the year, your child will have the chance to participate in a variety of musical activities, including:
Singing: We will learn a diverse repertoire of songs from different cultures and genres, helping your child develop their vocal skills and musical ear.
Playing Instruments: Your child will have the opportunity to play a variety of classroom instruments, such as drums, xylophones, and recorders, as well as explore non-traditional instruments and everyday objects as percussion.
Music Listening: We will listen to a wide range of music, from classical to contemporary, and learn about different composers and musical styles.
Music Theory: Your child will learn the fundamentals of music theory, including reading and writing music notation, understanding rhythm and melody, and exploring basic music concepts.
Creativity: I strongly believe in the importance of fostering creativity in all students. Your child will have the chance to improvise, compose, and create their own music, allowing them to express themselves in unique and meaningful ways.
Movement and Dance Parties... of course!
I am committed to providing your child with a positive and enriching music education experience, and I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year. Additionally, I will keep you updated on your child's progress in music class and share any important information or upcoming events.
Thank you for entrusting me with your child's musical education. I am looking forward to getting to know your child and helping them discover the joy of making music!
Sincerely,
Connie Tracy (Mrs. Connie)
