• Run the high school library, organize and facilitate the Pages for All Ages events to increase the accessibility of books to read for pleasure, and organize and facilitate an initiative to create a reading culture in our school

• Responsible for planning/creating/teaching lessons in the Blended Learning and AP environments, grading assignments, attending and contributing to RtI, department, PLC, and professional development meetings, parent communication and conferences, building relationships with students/parents/staff, and classroom management.  I also sponsored a sign language club for 2.5 years, and I was the Adviser for the National Honor Society.  I was very involved in building ICAP and soft skills lessons focusing on post-secondary planning, career exploration, and workforce readiness for the junior class. 

• As the Schoology Ambassador for my building, I assisted teachers with setting up and managing the learning management system. I was also listed on the district website as the contact point for parents and students with questions or issues with the LMS.

• Assisted Clinical teacher in planning, as well as planned and taught lessons aligned with Colorado State Academic Standards, including how America has evolved through immigration.  Students investigated the reasons for, risks and sacrifices associated with, and accomplishments of immigration and immigrants to create Farcebook pages.

April 2013 BREAK TIME RESPITE

TRE-The Resource Exchange—Mentor – Children ages 1-17 experiencing disabilities

• Responsible for caring for an assigned child while parents can have a day of BREAKTIME.  I cared for a non-vocal 15-year-old boy with multiple disabilities.  We spent 8 hours playing, coloring, reading, painting, eating pizza, singing, and making friends.

• Responsible for being a friend and mentor to a specific student.  Many students chose to spend time with me doing arts and crafts, going for walks, doing homework, or tutoring.
