These diagnostic assessments have been developed based on the Diagnostic Interview from the New Zealand Numeracy Project and Maths Recovery assessments. They have been adapted to link to the stages of the Highland Numeracy Progression and Curriculum for Excellence levels.

Created by Strichen School these assessments can be used at the start of a topic to gauge what the learners already know and could be repeated at the end of the topic to demonstrate progress. There are 3 assessments for each level representing beginning, middle and end, informed by the Aberdeenshire progression benchmarks and the Education Scotland end of level benchmarks.
