Top Tips from our S1s

S1 classes were asked to pass on 3 pieces of advice to our P7’s:

What not to worry about; what to look forward to and what they wish they had known. Here are their top tips:

What not to worry about:

  1. Getting lost - most said they found their way round really easily and got used to the building quickly

  2. Tests and Homework - teachers help you lots and they are just there to help your learning.

  3. Making Friends - some make friends quicker than others but everyone meets someone they like.

  4. Getting pushed - if it does happen it's usually an accident.

  5. Getting your head flushed down the toilet - this is a MYTH it DOESN’T HAPPEN.

What to look forward to:

  1. House events - so much fun

  2. Meeting new teachers (so many teachers were named by our pupils we can’t single them out!)

  3. Meeting new Friends

  4. The Canteen

  5. Being more independent.

What they all wish they had known:

  1. Bring more than one pencil and many subjects let you write in pen.

  2. Learn how to tie a tie before you come to school (but also know to losen the knot and you don’t have to keep tying it every day!)

  3. You do not leave school at break time

  4. You don’t get loads of homework so don’t worry.

  5. The canteen serves hot chocolate!
