Rotation 1 Overview

At the beginning of this IDL experience, pupils learned about their first social justice issue through the context of racism in sport. This was timely as the Euros 2020 competition took place and enabled pupils to engage with topical issues whilst investigating the history of improvements and challenges of tackling racism in sport.

The second area of social justice in sport that pupils investigated was LGBTQ+. Again, this was topical for pupils as news stories of prominent sports people sharing their experience of LGBTQ+ issues engaged pupils in the topic.

Pupils then continued to research, discuss, share and debate other social justice issues in sport, such as: Sexism, Sectarianism, and others, before working together on their end product: a podcast/talk show in the format of 'A View From The Terrace'. Scroll down to see their projects.
