Through this driving question, pupils learned about the forces and energy conversions involved in rollercoasters. They then worked in small groups to design a rollercoaster and its theming. They produced mood boards, models, marketing materials and merchandise designs that could be used in their end of project pitch. Mr Jack Codona met with pupils virtually to give them a brief history of Codona's Amusement Park in Aberdeen, before answering the many questions that the pupils had for him.
The IDL projects concluded with each group of pupils pitching their final rollercoaster design and marketing to a panel of experts: Iona Jost, Falcon's Creative Group USA; Elizabeth Pirrie, AccelerateHER; Pam Cumming, Business School at University of Aberdeen and Richard Cormack-Corrigan, Elevator.
