In this IDL pupils have been exploring fashion and its impact on people and the planet. Initially pupils explored how fashion is made fashionable; this experience was enhanced with a visit from local boutique owner Sonya Angus, giving pupils real world context to how fashion is established. Pupils decided to look at the impact of “fast fashion”; how our fashion is distributed and discarded. Pupils developed strong research skills and improved their confidence in identifying reliable sources. Pupils then produced an article about what they have learned, supported by Jamilla Robertson, founder of Slapp Make-Up and editor of her own online magazine.
