In this IDL, pupils have been exploring the significance of music in shared experiences especially when we are young. To begin with, we looked at what made a good song / tune for a party and explored the features of some of our favourites. We looked at how particular songs are used to celebrate occasions and festivals. We moved on to look at how music can form therapy and can be used to benefit our health. This included the specific treatment of ailments as well as how we use music to impact our own mood. Our two groups then came together to explore ideas and suggestions of how we could use the knowledge we had gained to use music to have a positive impact on others. We collaborated to generate ideas. Pupils were then able to identify their own preference to develop a final product that could be shared with others. We developed a range of products and pupils were working in small groups and developing their own plans, timelines and products.
