In this IDL, pupils have been learning how they can help people survive in environments with extreme conditions. They have investigated extremes in temperature (using the IR camera) and the importance of breathing for human survival. Pupils have also developed resilience techniques and researched the limits of human endurance. The IDL projects have been enhanced through virtual visits by Flux (Graphic Designer based in Inverurie) and volunteers from the RNLI who shared first-hand experiences of surviving in environments with extreme conditions.
Pupils have chosen which environment with extreme conditions to specialise in and have worked with each other to present the skills and knowledge that they have developed through different end goals: models, movies, games, escape rooms, digital guides and posters!
