Parents & Carers
How can you help your children to engage with learning?
You do not need to be an expert to support your child in learning from home.
Read through the advice on the 'Home Learning' section of the website.
You can continue to support them in developing life skills.
You can access general support and guidance from Education Scotland Parentzone via the two sites below.
Google Guardian
Google Guardian is a weekly summary of tasks assigned and overdue for your child in their Google Classrooms. In August, invites were sent to the main contact for your child. A survey will be issued in January, if you have not been receiving these and you would like to.

Q. Will it be used during home learning?
A. Yes - during face-to-face teaching most departments use Google Classroom for the purpose of homework tasks. During home learning, all class tasks will be assigned in this way. If you feel your son/daughter is struggling with the volume of work, please encourage them to message their teacher and/or speak to their guidance teacher via their PSE Google Classroom.

New SCHOLAR video- Information for Parents and Carers
Many parents and carers are curious about online learning, and would like to find out more about resources that can be used to enliven at-home learning.
To give parents and carers a sense of the variety of engaging activities available, SCHOLAR have produced a new 3 minute video, “Information for Parents and Carers”, aimed, primarily, at parents and carers of learners in S3-S6.
We would be delighted if you wished to post a link to our video on your school website or include it in support materials for parents and carers.
Our new video is available at https://bit.ly/ParentsAndCarersInfo
Best wishes,
SCHOLAR Team
