High Desert Projects

In fall 2022, Arts Connection began amplifying its service to High Desert artists through its new signature program, All Points Artist Salon, created and facilitated by T. Faye Griffin. T. Faye joined the Arts Connection team in 2022 as staff, having served on the board for two years and deciding she wanted to take a more active role in shaping the organization’s direct impact work in the High Desert where she lives. 

All Points Artist Salon was launched to create space to build synergy for future growth and conversations in the High Desert and to develop arts cohesion in a region that is fragmented socially, economically, racially, and culturally. All Points provides an oasis in the High Desert for artists’ professional development and social connection, creating an accessible and sustainable space that anchors the arts in the High Desert, serving as an interim “home” for arts and culture in the region. 

This salon creates a democratic space for artists of ages, disciplines, and backgrounds to convene and share their work, artist needs, and advocacy concerns. All Points Artist Salon seeks to cultivate allies with other local arts agencies, to promote a jobs board with arts education and teaching opportunities, to advocate for public art, and to create new spaces for artists to convene. Launched in fall 2022, All Points hosted two salons that served some 75 High Desert artists in 2022 and will convene with artists monthly in 2023.
