Materials

This year, we'll be using materials from the kits that are available in-school if we are in-person, or the kits that are sent home if we are remote. Please DO NOT run out to buy art supplies! Most of the projects have choices about what materials you use, so you can choose to use whatever is around you in addition to your kit. Some projects will also be made out of recyclables like paper tubes and cereal boxes, or out of natural materials like sticks and leaves.

All kits include pencils, erasers, crayons, and drawing paper. Most kits also have scissors, glue sticks, markers, color pencils, pencil sharpeners, and construction paper too. Even with just these supplies, the possibilities are endless!

Additionally, some kits for older students will have rulers, index cards, and graph paper.

We are hoping that all kits will soon have watercolor paints and paintbrushes, pending funds.

Some projects will require a device with a camera, like a laptop, chromebook, tablet, or smartphone to take pictures or video. If you received a device from the district, please use it for these! Otherwise, you can use any personal device that your family might have at home, as long as it can take pictures and video. Of course, this will also come in handy when you're ready to take pictures of your finished artwork to share with the community!
