When you create an assignment in Google Classroom, you have the option to make a copy for each student of any attached file (ex: a Google Doc or Slides). This will create an individual template for each student. These templates are automatically saved in your Google Drive Classroom folder and student work will be viewable in the assignment in Google Classroom. You can also leave the settings on view only or let students all edit the same file to collaborate.
To share a link with your students about how to submit work, you can also share this video.
