The first- and second-year students are in a rigorous course titled Doctoring which runs parallel to CCE. There, students learn history and physical exam skills with the help of standardized patients. By the time students start with you in October, they have passed a performance-based assessment that evaluates their clinical skills in areas of history taking, basic physical examination and communication.
The UA COM-P follows a systems-based learning approach in its first two years, with coursework structured around organ system blocks.
